Happy National Hamburger Day!

I only found out late in the day that today is National Hamburger Day. I found out via Instagram when it seems several burger photos started popping up on my feed!

According to punchbowl.com:

“Although hamburgers originated in Hamburg, Germany, eating a burger on a bun is actually an American tradition. The hamburger as we know it was most likely invented in Seymour, Wisconsin. Each year, the city hosts a hamburger festival called Burger Fest. That is where the world’s largest hamburger made its debut in 2001 – it weighed 8,266 pounds!”

The month of May is also considered National Hamburger Month as well as National Strawberry Month – wow, opposite ends of the food chain here!

Well before the month of May ends, I am planning to have a burger!
